Your information
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Siwen, the developer of WHY CAFÉ, handles information when you use the app on Apple Vision Pro, visit these support pages, or contact us.
1. Information kept on your device
The app stores preferences such as scene size, orientation, lighting, sound levels, visitor activity, reminder preferences, and your analytics choice locally on your device. These local settings are not uploaded as a cloud account or cloud save.
Optional reminders use local notifications scheduled on your device. Notification permission is managed by visionOS. The app does not use a remote push service to deliver these reminders.
2. Optional usage analytics
If you enable Share usage analytics in Settings > About > Privacy, the app sends selected usage and performance events to PostHog in the United States. We use this information to understand app use, improve performance, and evaluate features and reminders. Consent is the basis for this optional collection.
These events may include:
- A random app identifier that connects visits from the app, and technical session identifiers.
- App version, build number, platform, and whether the build is for development or production.
- App opens, session duration and duration milestones, scene loading times, and loading success or failure.
- Selected setting changes and feature interactions.
- Reminder preferences, notification permission status, reminder actions, and returns following a local reminder.
The app does not send your name, email address, room images, head movements, microphone audio, or café conversations as analytics. It does not include session replay or use analytics for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking. Analytics events are filtered to a defined set of events and properties. Requests necessarily pass through network infrastructure, which can process technical connection information, such as an IP address; geographic enrichment is disabled in the app's analytics configuration.
See PostHog's Privacy Policy for information about the service.
3. Changing your choice and retention
You can turn off Share usage analytics at any time. This stops collection and clears unsent analytics events stored by the app on your device. Turning it off does not automatically delete data previously sent to PostHog.
Previously transmitted analytics remain subject to the project's service retention and deletion settings. Local app preferences remain until reset or removed with the app, subject to the operating system's storage and backup behavior. Support correspondence is retained as needed to handle your request, related follow-up, and applicable legal obligations.
To request access, correction, or deletion of information we hold, email us. Because the app does not associate its random analytics identifier with an email or account, we may be unable to locate your analytics solely from your email address. We will explain any information needed to identify the relevant records and any limits on the request.
4. Support messages
If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it to respond to your request and resolve issues. Please do not send passwords, payment card details, or other unnecessary sensitive information. Email providers process correspondence as part of delivering and storing messages.
5. Sharing and international processing
We do not sell personal information. Service providers process information to provide analytics, email, and website hosting. Optional analytics are processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws from your country. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or to protect legal rights.
6. These support pages
These pages have no app analytics code, advertising scripts, contact forms, or site-managed tracking cookies. The hosting infrastructure, including Cloudflare, may process IP addresses and technical request information to deliver and secure the pages. External links and your email provider have their own privacy practices.
7. Children and your rights
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through support or optional analytics. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us so we can investigate. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, withdraw consent, receive a copy of your information, or complain to your local data protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
8. Policy updates and contact
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the effective date. Material changes that require renewed consent will be handled before the affected optional collection begins.
